Oil tank removal at a Levittown address starts with the tank, then with the deed. Levittown is not a permitting authority. The house can sit in Bristol Township, Falls Township, Middletown Township, or Tullytown Borough.
Start with the tank, then the deed
The first question is still where the tank sits and whether it is in use. Odor or staining belongs on the leaking-tank page before anyone treats it as a routine removal.
The second question is which of the four names is on the deed. A neighborhood section, a ZIP code, or “Levittown” on the mailbox does not answer it. Ask the township or borough that matches the deed before work is scheduled. The permits and records page is the countywide starting list.
What each office has published
Middletown Township publishes a residential oil-tank permit sentence on its site. Its building and zoning FAQ says a permit is required for the removal, abandonment, or new installation of residential oil tanks. That sentence applies to Middletown Township properties, including a Levittown address that is actually in Middletown. Confirm the rule with the office named on the deed. The Middletown Township page covers that township’s form and fee schedule. Read the sentence itself on the Middletown Township FAQ. The township office listed there is in Langhorne. That mailing place is not Langhorne Borough.
Bristol Township publishes a permits page. Falls Township publishes a township site. Use that office for a Falls address. Tullytown Borough publishes building and mechanical permit forms. A missing online form is not proof that no permit is required. Confirm with the office named on the deed.
Separately, the U.S. Census Bureau lists Levittown as a census-designated place. Levittown CDP, Pennsylvania identifies the community. It does not name Bristol Township, Falls Township, Middletown Township, or Tullytown Borough, and it does not name a permit office.
A sale does not write the work order
A buyer, a lender, or an inspection note can still make the tank the next conversation. The buying and selling page covers the sale questions. Use the abandonment page if someone is proposing to leave the tank in the ground. Those are different decisions in every one of the four municipalities.
